QUESTIONS & ANSWERS ::
What kind of audio or files do I provide for mastering?
Our recommended premaster (source) format is 24 bit audio stored in DATA format on CDR or DVDR. That said, please do not up or downsample your current file format if you are already working in the digital domain, bring in whatever you have. Data CDR's are preferred over audio discs because of their more reliable error correction.
We can (and do) work with just about any kind of source material -- if you are bringing in something non-standard, please contact us to make sure the necessary machines and cabling are available. As a rule of thumb, please perform as few transfers and format changes as possible -- the closer your source material is to your original recordings, the higher the quality and accuracy of your final product.
Acceptable source material > data cd, audio cd, 1/4" tape, 1/2" tape, DAT, minidisc, cassette, records / vinyl, any device with analog, spdif, lightpipe, usb, or firewire connectivity
